I must say, I’m never very excited for Monday. boo! How is it the weekend is so short? On the flipside isn’t it exciting that it’s August already? I mean, fall is just around the corner for most of the United States. (Here we will have temperatures in the 100’s well into October.)
Last night we had a little excitement in the bedroom. And no, I’m not talking about THAT kind of excitement. After a few nights of not sleeping great, I had a cup of Sleepytime tea and did a little reading. Hardly able to keep my eyes open, I rolled to my side and was just about to nod off when Scott yells, “move over, quick!” I jolt up and over, only to turn around and see a scorpion crawling across my pillow. ACK! Not only had I never seen a live one in the house, I certainly hadn’t seen one in my bed and that close to me. Scott got a kleenex, grabbed it, and flushed it down to go swimming in the Scottsdale sewer. My heart was pounding and I was still feeling a little itchy and squirmish, when Scott left me alone in the bedroom to get something to drink. Walking back into the bedroom, he announced that there was an ambulance and fire truck in front of our house! If I wasn’t wide awake from the scorpion excitement, I sure was now. We figured it was the neighbors across the street, and hoped it wasn’t something with one of their young boys. Scott went over to offer assistance, and as he did we saw the little ones come out with a family friend. Something happened to their father, and he was transported to the hospital.
As we walked back into the bedroom, I felt relieved that we were all safe and sound. After a quick double check on Ava, we went to bed thinking this is the kind of excitement we could do without.
I am excited about this:
Heading to San Diego this weekend for a week of beach, walks, Farmer’s Markets, picnics, and relaxing.
Stay tuned tomorrow for an exciting giveaway!
